Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with application development teams throughout the organization to ensure seamless and consistent deployments
  • Design and implement deployment, upgrade, and patching strategies
  • Analyze log errors/source code and work closely with development teams throughout the testing process
  • Develop and maintain low to moderate complexity technical documentation and processes
  • Design and implement backup/disaster recovery solutions
  • SSH into individual servers to review logs and triage issues
  • Command-line use of AWS CLI and creation of scripts using AWS APIs to configure the hosting environments
  • Ensure high availability and monitor for vulnerabilities
  • Monitor and troubleshoot site performance issues
  • DNS record management
  • Write clean, high-quality, high-performance code that is easy to maintain
  • Develop and support software, including applications, database integration, platform integrations, and cloud structure
  • Design with leadership the development and implementation of continuous integration/continuous development (CI/CD) strategy for management of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) baseline
  • Develop and document shared infrastructure component management strategy to provide consistent standardized container, OS, and application baselines for infrastructure components available through self-service
  • Identify requirements, develop, document, and implement branching strategy to support change management requirements while automating as much of the deployment process as practical in the IaC CI/CD pipeline
  • Review, debug, and resolve technical issues throughout all stages of SDLC
  • Build process development and process improvement for Security and Development Operations to include creation/modification of SOPs, playbooks, and work instructions
  • Perform integration activities to connect with third-party software APIs
  • Design, implement, and maintain efficient and reusable Python/Node/Shell/PHP code
  • Evaluates the impacts of change requests on own/shared technologies and effectively persuades and influences others on ideas
  • Document and diagram system specifications, writes documentation, including technical standards and processes
  • Ability to enable simplification and efficiencies by identifying opportunities to leverage systems and investments across business areas and territories
  • Work collaboratively with our Digital and Technology Team and architect and implement next- generation system architecture and automation solutions
  • Define, design, and implement DevOps solutions, which includes reference architectures, estimates, and costing
  • Act as an engineer expert on DevOps best execution practices (i.e., Containers, Docker, AWS, Azure)
  • Perform analysis best practices and emerging concepts in DevOps, infrastructure automation, and enterprise security
  • Acts as a technical liaison between agency, digital engineering teams, and corporate IT
  • Review and audit of existing solution, design, and system architecture

Job Requirements

  • 4+ years in a TechOps/DevOps/SRE-related role
  • 3+ years building, designing, and maintaining cloud-based applications with AWS
  • Expert understanding of core AWS services (day-to-day include IAM, EC2, VPC, EBS, S3, RDS, Lambda, SNS)
  • Expert understanding of Linux administration (optimally Ubuntu/Debian and RHEL/CentOS -based distros)
  • Expert understanding of LAMP stacks and configs (Nginx, Apache, MySQL)
  • Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab Pipelines) using JSON or YAML
  • Experience with Bash/Shell scripting
  • Experience with site monitoring and log monitoring tools (Cloudwatch, NewRelic, Datadog, etc)
  • Experience with PM2 and PM2 ecosystem configurations
  • Knowledge of web application programming languages and MVC frameworks (PHP, NodeJS, ReactJS, Laravel, CodeIgniter, etc)
  • Knowledge of NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB) and Relational (MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLLite)
  • Ability to work independently and within a team as a technical subject matter expert
  • Must be self-driven and motivated
  • Experience monitoring for vulnerabilities
  • Passion for delivering high-quality technical solutions

  • Certification types:
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer

Nice to haves:
  • Experience with containerized delivery with Docker, Kubernetes
