Overview

The role of the Hospital Specialist on this dedicated team will be to support the launch and uptake of our customer’s lead product an orphan designated asset nationally across Italy. Ideally the candidate has to be based in Milan. The role requires the individual to develop and implement the national launch strategy that delivers the sales and uptake of the product across the assigned centres. The target HCP audience will be Paediatricians, internal medicine Doctors, Heptologists, Dieticians, Pharmacists, typically within university hospitals. The Hospital Specialist will be able to intelligently identify the appropriate engagement channel for the HCP’s, gain consent and apply data and insight to drive a smart, informed and value-based conversations with customers, through the channels they prefer.

Please, note that initially we will offer a temporary contract for this role. 

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, develops, and manages excellent partnership with prominent HCPs and stakeholders as they relate to the customer’s product
  • Present clinical, financial, and value-based solutions to key decision makers within the therapeutic area
  • Outline distinct benefits of the customer’s lead product and develop business relationships with HCPs and their supporting teams which enable the Hospital Specialist to protect the progressive business from the threat of future competition
  • Delivers on a well-defined business plan within budget and agreed timelines
  • Use of CRM system to support planning, sequential selling, and territory analysis
  • Negotiate contracts with pharmacy procurement specialists as required and within the guidelines set by the customer
  • Ensure that all activity is compliant with Italian rules and regulations

  • Fulfils legal requirements for medical reps (Italy ISF)
  • Life science or business degree required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Proven sales success in secondary care within Rare Diseases
  • Previous Product Launch experience
  • A good understanding of national, regional and local policies and procedures and how they influence the opportunity.
