Responsibilities

This role is dedicated to initiatives that are intended to address the opioid crisis and work to build awareness, contracting, resource support and implementation of effective programs for our client’s product. Opioids, which our client does not and will not promote, and other non-opioid/non-PHI branded products, are not the remit of this role.
  • From a listed universe of unique hospital systems/networks, strategically engage willing partners to advance the positive impact on patients via our client’s introduction of their product.
  • Build awareness of the product in the hospital setting. Where Emergency Medical Service (EMS) is a direct extension of the hospital Emergency Department there may be requirements for the role to fulfill.
  • Contract the product to ensure wide availability with limited financials barriers to use. This may include Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), Hospitals and potentially Managed Care Plans/Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), Specialty Pharmacy among others, as applicable.
  • Increase the awareness of the client’s product with appropriate placement on hospital formularies, pathways and protocols via Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committees and other governing bodies using approved materials and Medical Science Liaisons, as appropriate.
  • Understand customers’ approach to the patient journey in their specific institutions by learning from them through interactions.
  • Maintain Account plans for each institution, record call history and continually expand network of key individuals within assigned institutions with full contact information and role descriptions
  • Responsible for key Integrated Delivery Networks, individual hospitals, related entities and/or Group Purchasing Organizations to execute and inform our client’s Integrated Delivery Systems strategy.
  • Act as a direct feedback loop to relevant headquarters stakeholders regarding marketplace dynamics and learnings.

Along with a results-oriented mindset, self-assurance and an engaging manner, the ideal candidate has:
  • BA / BS degree required
  • 5+ Years of Commercial Biotech / Pharmaceutical Industry Experience
  • 3+ Years of successful institutional / hospital experience calling on hospital & IDN networks
  • Product launch experience with a proven track record of success
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time
