Responsibilities

The TM is primarily responsible for the successful delivery, execution, and management of all training-related needs. The TM is expected to comprehend and communicate materials and must possess effective facilitation and communication skills. As a partner to sales management, should be knowledgeable of complex customer environments and highly competent in the skills necessary to navigate these environments. The TM may also be expected to comprehend and communicate the disease state, marketplace, and product-specific materials.

Job Responsibilities (Duties may include, but are not limited to all of the following)

Facilitation & Presentation Skills

  • For each learning session, creates a training agenda that supports the identified learning objectives
  • Manages the live and virtual classroom environments in a manner that allows participants to achieve the learning objectives
  • Engages in effective workshop delivery utilizing high-impact learning activities that adhere to adult learning principles
  • Provides Train-the-Leader/Trainer workshops, as appropriate

Coaching and Developing Others

  • Coaches’ learners during training classes
  • Evaluates the competency levels of training class participants and provides timely evaluations and feedback
  • Completes field rides upon request from sales leadership
  • Provides effective remote coaching to field-based teams
  • Engages in mentoring opportunities with field-based trainers and personnel

Content & Logistics

  • Coordinates across departments (Operations, Compliance, etc), identifying all new-to-team and ongoing training requirements, ensuring all requirements are communicated, tracked and completed
  • Assists in curriculum development, as appropriate
  • Supports leadership by leading efforts around skill development for national sales meetings, POA meetings, manager meetings, and other training initiatives
  • May be responsible for supporting leadership by leading efforts around disease state and product development for national sales meetings, POA meetings, manager meetings, and other training initiatives
  • Manages the Medical, Legal, Regulatory Review process for training assets, if applicable
  • May be responsible for vendor management, i.e., overseeing content development and ensuring content and timelines meet the identified needs, etc.

This position may also include Client Focused Training Responsibilities -

  • Oversees the implementation and delivery of all live and virtual training programs, including new hire/backfill training, advanced training, NSMs, POAs, etc.
  • Creates and maintains a workable training plan that includes the goals, strategies, and tactics to be implemented to achieve the desired business results
  • Conducts ongoing training needs analyses and, in alignment with sales leadership, modifies the training plan accordingly

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Required: 4-year college degree
  • Preferred: MBA or masters in instructional design

Skills

  • Required:  Bio-pharma training experience, high-level PowerPoint skills,
  • Preferred:  Pharma sales and sales management experience; Background in Leadership Development, instructional design  

Minimum Qualifications & Skills Required:

-Bachelor's degree with at least 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical sales

  • 3+ years of sales management and/or sales training experience preferred 
  • 3+ years of experience designing and leading Training programs at scale, preferably in high-growth environments
  • Graduate or terminal degree will be viewed as a plus

-In-depth understanding of best practices in learning strategy development and execution and in employee engagement

-Proven experience with curriculum development and delivery methodologies and best practices

-Experience with creation of innovation and program-building within a high growth, evolving environment

-Strong consultative skills and proven ability to make persuasive recommendations based on business rationale

-Experienced in thinking strategically and tactically both short and long term relative to customer and industry

-Proven ability to connect customer needs with available solutions

-Experience with working in and managing ambiguity, including dealing effectively with issues that do not always have a process, system, or solution in place

-Demonstrated ability to prioritize initiatives based on the evolving needs of the company, making consistently strategic recommendations to company leadership

-Proven communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
