The Vice President, Medical Director is responsible for providing overall guidance to the scientific team, ensuring appropriate staffing, providing clients with medical strategy and driving new business efforts.

Cadent specializes in high science, high touch peer to peer medical communications. The company excels in translating complex science into compelling messages that deliver value and action. Cadent builds relationships and collaboration between the biopharmaceutical industry and healthcare professionals.

 

Responsibilities

Duties may include, but not limited to all or some of the following
  • Manages scientific team
  • Travels to client meetings as needed in the New York area.
  • Works directly with clients to provide strategic oversight from a clinical perspective
  • Participates in client meetings such as annual brand planning to provide internal team with client clinical strategies
  • Oversee content development across scientific team
  • Ensure proper resources are available to the team, including referencing sources and personnel
  • Ensure quality standards are being met
  • Ensure work flow for scientific team is efficient
  • Responsible for new business efforts
  • Works with new business lead to assess and pursue opportunities
  • Assists in the building of proposals and pitches
  • Provides medical strategy for new business efforts
  • Travels to advisory boards (majority Thursday and Friday travel)
  • Provides client with strategic oversight
  • Assess client tactical plan based on feedback heard at advisory board
  • Travels to scientific meetings (majority Thursday and Friday travel) to assess market trends, and build KOL and client relationships

Job Requirements

Required:

  • PhD

  • >8 years medical writing/medical communications experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with account teams, other writers, editors, physicians and clients

  • Ability to communicate medical/technical information to a wide variety of audiences

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team-oriented environment

  • Ability to work onsite in NYC at least one day a week.

Preferred:

  • PowerPoint experience preferred
