Consultant (Life Sciences - Advanced Data Analytics)

Responsibilities

You’ll join the Center of Excellence (CoE) team within Syneos Health Consulting. You will help clients maximize the commercial value of their assets, portfolio, and organization while building excellence in the commercial organization. You will also help companies market and sell more effectively in an environment increasingly dominated by third-party payers. 

More specifically:

• Builds positive working relationships with clients, consulting staff, managers, leadership, and internal support teams.
• Use analytic techniques to guide client in decision-making.
• Design custom analyses in SQL, and Python/SAS/R to investigate and inform client needs.
• Synthesize insights from different healthcare proprietary databases that include: RWD (Real World Data)- Symphony, Komodo, Optum; Payer data- MMIT, Formulary lookup, Sales/ Prescription data: MIDAS/ DDD / NSP
• Develop internal capabilities and standardization of common modeling processes
• Synthesize and communicate results through oral and written presentations.
• Develop client relationships and serve as key point of contact on aspects of projects.
• Demonstrates technical skill according to the demands of projects, and uses skill to create value on projects with direction, including research and data analysis, problem solving, critical thinking, and strategic communication of findings.
• Approaches project ambiguity, client changes, delays/expedites, and/or unexpected data findings with maturity and professionalism. Maintains regular communication with project management and leadership.

Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

- Must have

• Proficiency must in SQL, SAS/Python, Advanced Excel
• Objectively analyze questions, hypotheses, and results
• Understand what resources are critical to solve a problem
• Look at problems from differing views and perspectives
• Explain what data-driven insights mean in business-relevant terms
• Communicate information in a way that highlights the value of action
• Convey the research process and assumptions that led to a conclusion
• Summarize data effectively on PowerPoint

- Good to have

• Experience of working on visualization tools like PowerBI/Tableau/Microstrategy/ Qlikview
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (like Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (like pandas, numpy, and scikit-learn)
• 2-6 years of relevant post-college job experience with domain knowledge/expertise in Healthcare/Life Sciences/Med Tech is preferred
• Fundamental understanding of standard predictive and classification models; when to use and how to interpret results
