Responsibilities

The primary role of the Medical Affairs Training Manager/Leader is to create and lead the development of medical affairs training strategy, resource requirements, & plan for field execution in APAC.

This role will be responsible for the development, guidance, and/or execution of the Medical Affairs curriculum; scientific, technical, and complementary skills needed primarily for Medical Science Liaisons and other Medical Affairs functions. The incumbent is responsible for the successful development, delivery, execution, and management of all Client’s training-related needs as well as Syneos Health personnel. The LDL is expected to comprehend and communicate the disease state, and product-specific materials and must possess effective facilitation and communication skills.

The incumbent will work with SH Medical Affairs leaders, Learning Solutions and Business Development colleagues across the APAC region to address internal and clients’ MS training needs, while customizing the contents and delivery to local linguistic and cultural needs.

Liaison Responsibilities

  • Works with Medical Affairs Leaders to provide coaching on managerial effectiveness and other topics
  • Interface with Client teams to help identify, build and deliver relevant training to MSLs
  • Provide learner feedback to Medical Affairs managers with recommendations for follow-up coaching
  • Delegate and coordinate medical affairs training content creation to appropriate subject matter experts, as needed, and ensure on time delivery of training
  • Contribute to external workshops and educational opportunities as needed

Design Responsibilities

  • Conducts ongoing training needs analyses along with SH Medical Affairs Leaders in APAC, and clients
  • Creates and maintains a workable Training Plan to determine the goals, strategies, and tactics to be implemented to achieve client satisfaction and individual professional needs
  • Develops training concepts and associated objectives, descriptions, and sequencing for all training efforts
  • Works with Client and SH Leadership to determine specific metrics and measurements to assess the success of training activities
  • Creating and delivering the medical affairs content for new hires or experienced MSLs as per clients and SH MA leadership need

Development Responsibilities

  • Oversees content for all forms of training delivery & works with SH Learning Solutions and other colleagues to develop customized contents
  • Nurtures the training concepts throughout their evolution to ensure alignment with the strategic intent of the overall brand objectives
  • Engages with LS, Medical Affairs leadership Team and Client throughout the entirety of development process
  • Oversees live training logistical and preparation support, including scheduling assistance, printing guides, and facilities requirements
  • Leads or facilitates training for all developed content and provides support for delivery as requested

Delivery Responsibilities

  • Oversees implementation of or delivers all training programs, as per Medical Affairs Leadership and client requirements including advanced training and POAs virtual training
  • Manages classroom environment in a manner that allows participants to meet learning objectives
  • Coordinate internal presenters, guest trainers, and vendors for trainings and off-site meetings
  • Evaluates the competency levels of training class participants and provides timely evaluations and feedback
  • Works with Medical Affairs Leaders and client to formulate coaching and development plan

Along with demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s degree or higher preferred
  • Fluency in English and Japanese required
  • Solid experience leading training initiatives within the health care industry/Pharmaceutical, Medical Communication or consulting, ideally good knowledge and experience of working within Medical Affairs
  • Demonstrable presentation, training, and teaching skills experience
  • Demonstrable experience in strategic planning, execution and adult training and education
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and proven utilization of training build (design, development) and delivered utilizing adult learning principles within a LMS environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Excellence collaboration and communication skills to facilitate team discussions and drive optimal team performance.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills and facilitations skills in leading training initiatives
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines that may require a flexible work schedule
