We are seeking a public relations professional with strong project management, logistical and desktop research skills. This job presents the opportunity to work on a large and growing biotech account featuring diverse work streams and multiple rare diseases across neurology and hematology.

  • Oversee account team and support senior strategic counsel – with strong client relations skills and experience with data/regulatory and scientific communications. Alexion is a global biopharmaceutical company developing life-changing therapies for people living with rare disorders, with a focus in neurology and hematology.
  • Business includes brand communications on data/regulatory milestones as well disease education in neurologic and hematologic conditions.
  • Key focus areas for the position will include: communications around medical congresses, publications and regulatory actions; issues preparedness; thought leadership; patient conferences/advocacy/engagement; and disease awareness.
  • Act as lead client contact for neurology and hematology work streams
  • Opportunity for continued business growth demands forward thinking and ability to navigate internal organization, while keeping a close pulse on day-to-day
  • Proven ability to develop and orchestrate multi-pronged communications efforts across therapeutic areas simultaneously
  • Maintain and grow positive and productive team environment through mentorship and management of junior members of the team, ensuring they are set up for success and are building confidence in managing their projects.
  • Review and develop strategic plans and communications materials ranging from internal communications to press releases to executive communications
  • Oversee team lead coordinationof account management activities (budget, monthly billing process, timelines, action plans, agendas, call notes)

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a professional environment within the healthcare public relations and/or communications industries 
  • Experience and interest advocacy relations/patient engagement 
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure in a fast-paced (but fun) environment, meeting internal and external deadlines 
The expected annual base salary for this position is $190k to $230k.
