Overview

The role of the Syneos Health (SYNH) National Business Manager is to ensure the successful launch and commercialisation of a novel drug, to protect against hepatitis B (an infectious disease of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus).  The National Business Manager will have oversight of the team, who are responsible for achieving the business objectives for their geographies. The National Business Manager will also have personal responsibility for their own territory within Germany whilst leading the Vaccine Account Managers, who will be locally managing the sales and marketing P&L, securing market access for new and marketed medicines, and leading the overall launch of the drug in their geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and counsel a team of Vaccine Account Managers in defined target markets
  • Support each Vaccine Account Manager to develop component parts and contribute and deliver an overarching commercial plan for the team and ensure flawless execution with the budget and timelines set
  • Working closely with the internal SYNH deployment solutions centers of excellence (Recruitment, HR, Training, Compliance, Operations, Finance, Legal) to ensure a team is built to support the launch of the client product
  • Working in a broader matrix ecosystem as part of Syneos Health and our client’s commercial team, with input into the governance and steering committee
  • Develop strategic plans for your own strategic accounts and area of responsibility that will deliver agreed sales targets. The plan will outline critical success factors and strategic initiatives from which tactical plans will be derived and executed
  • Develop and manage annual budgets to support the commercial plan
  • Navigate complex national, regional and local healthcare environments and appropriately influence policy and funding to enable access and rapid availability of the product for eligible patients
  • Profile, support and educate the healthcare multidisciplinary team on risk stratification, patient monitoring, testing and referral pathways to enable appropriate patient identification

  • Educated to Degree Level (BSc) minimum, MSc, desirable
  • Full Valid Driving License
  • Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry in sales, account management or healthcare development management at a national or regional level
  • Proven ability to lead and support a hybrid sales team, with proven coaching/development skills
  • Thorough understanding of the national healthcare system in Germany  
  • Track record of performance and delivery to sales and market share goals
  • Experience in the launch and commercialisation of vaccines in Germany is highly preferable
  • Comfortable with technology, use of Veeva CRM for data capture, dashboard and real-time customer intelligence reports
  • Strong analytical skills and experience of working closely with reporting and analytics teams to ensure data is captured, reported, and insights are correctly highlighted
  • Proven budget management
  • Understanding of external laws, codes and company policies that apply to the healthcare industry
