The Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) will perform as the subject-matter expert on reimbursement, access and coverage issues affecting product(s) by ensuring access to care for appropriate patients within a defined geography or customer list. This includes identifying and removing reimbursement barriers within sites of care through engagement with payers, health care providers and their staff and patient support service program. The FRM will: 
  • Serve as primary field-based lead for education, assistance, and appropriate issue resolution with office staff with respect to reimbursement for portfolio
  • Invest significant time (up to 75% potentially on-site) with customers assessing their education needs and facilitating collaboration with various customers
  • Educate the office staff around how to navigate the payer approval process, identifying access barriers, and highlighting support available to increase access to therapy
  • Consistent with company policy, monitor, analyze, and triage situations which may adversely impact patient access to therapy
  • Serve as subject matter expert for internal team members and external office staff regarding treatment guidelines, policy changes, formulary status and the impact of healthcare reform on coverage
  • Educate peers about various elements of Market Access, including reimbursement, medical coverage policies and medical benefit design
  • Execute the Client identified managed market initiatives to a high level of achievement
  • Demonstrate knowledge and leadership to liaise with internal stakeholders (including cross functional teams such as Marketing, Operations, Trade and Sales Leadership teams)
  • Thoroughly understand how payer policy decisions are made

Along with demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s degree – BA/BS required
  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience and proven success in biotech/pharmaceutical industry
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience of successful track record focused on provider reimbursement-related matters
  • Relevant Oncology and Rare Disease/Orphan Drug experience with buy and bill product(s)
  • Field sales management experience preferred
  • Successful experience in product launches and execution of launch strategies/tactical plans
  • Relevant experience in revenue cycle, buy-and-bill, formulary, prior authorization, coding, and appeals processes of which three years are in specialty disease state(s)
  • Candidates must live in close proximity to a major airport
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel, including overnights and/or weekends
