An internship with us gives you the opportunity to work side by side with passionate problem solvers on powerful and fulfilling work. Additionally, over the summer, there will be opportunities to participate in events just for our interns:  social events with other interns, career development workshops, community service projects, and networking with senior leaders – just to name a few!

This Opportunity

GSW is a full-service healthcare communications agency that goes beyond advertising to create personalized brand experiences. We develop strategic marketing solutions for pharmaceutical, biotech and health-and-wellness clients around the world. We create experiences that involve, inspire, educate and activate people through ongoing brand journeys.

Our GSW team is looking for an intellectually curious problem solver to join our team to help us continuously deliver strategic and data-driven solutions to our business unit partners and clients.

This is a 10-week internship; full-time over Summer 2022.

The goal of this internship is to offer the candidate a full view of what it is like to work in the healthcare communications field as part of a creative agency. As such, we adopt a rotational approach to the internship, ensuring the candidate is exposed to various aspects of the business from business development to client management to agency operations to brand and customer experience. During your time with us, you will also be exposed to the creative process and enjoy observing and participating in creative brainstorm sessions and reviews.  



Responsibilities

  • Serving as an active member of the agency team, contributing to day-to-day tasks associated with running projects and capturing feedback.
  • Participating in team meetings and, as appropriate, in client presentations
  • Completing various tasks under the supervision of an agency team member, including conducting secondary research, writing conference recaps or project briefs, overseeing project timelines, etc.
  • Collaborating with fellow interns to complete a special project and presenting to the executive leadership team
  • Seeking out increased opportunity for learning and exposure to aspects of the agency world that intrigue you most

Job Requirements

  • Students entering their Senior year Fall 2022
  • Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or similar
  • Past internship experience or project work in Communications, Advertising
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams), email, and voicemail 
  • Above-average attention to detail, effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage a workload consisting of several concurrent projects or tasks

 

Interviews may be conducted in person at an on-site interview location. For any in person interviews, local Covid safety guidelines will be followed.

I understand that if I am made an offer of employment, it will be conditioned on my demonstration I am fully vaccinated OR I plan to initiate vaccination by my start date AND be fully vaccinated within 4 weeks of start date against the COVID-19 virus.

IMPORTANT: I understand that if the role for which I am applying requires extensive in-person contact with colleagues, health care providers, clients and other medical professionals who have stringent vaccination requirements that all Syneos Health employees with whom they partner be fully vaccinated and will not accept or consider any exemptions. I understand I can request an exemption from Syneos Health’s vaccination requirement based on a qualifying medical condition or sincerely-held religious belief. However, in the event that I successfully obtain an exemption, I understand that it is highly unlikely that I will be able to adequately perform the essential functions of this position without imposing an undue hardship on Syneos Health due to the clients’ demands.
