An Engagement Manager is a people manager with day-to-day oversight of multiple client projects.  Expectations include the ability to build relationships (internally and externally), identify client needs, design strategic and innovative solutions, and deliver client contracts on time and on budget.  As a member of the management team, an Engagement Manager is responsible for ensuring a superior client experience while developing the skills and supervising the work of consulting staff team members.

Responsibilities

You’ll join The Commercial Advisory Group within Syneos Health Consulting. You will help clients maximize the commercial value of their assets, portfolio, and organization through three focus areas: setting corporate direction, evaluating options, and pursuing a strategic path. 

  • Coach and mentor junior team members to extend their skills and responsibilities as appropriate, conduct performance reviews & support overall recruitment/retention efforts.  
  • Develop business strategy through conducting primary and secondary research relating to Product Portfolio & Planning including forecasting revenue, market sizing and regression.
  • Work directly with clients and Managing Directors to set project objectives, develop analytical frameworks, manage team responsibilities, and maintain timeline.
  • Elevate new business opportunities through the identification of follow-on work, product enhancements or additional service offerings.
  • Understand the critical issues affecting the client and communicate key insights and recommendations based upon the case teams research and analysis.
  • Leading team members in complex analysis and problem-solving including problem structuring, analytical techniques, synthesis, and client implications.
  • Develop/deliver concise, impactful presentations for external and external stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

  • Advanced degree (MBA or other professional degree highly preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in life science consulting, with increasing levels of responsibility/exposure to senior leadership
  • Experience in creating and evaluating commercial strategy for pharmaceutical brands
  • 2+ years of management/leadership experience in a consulting firm
  • Strong presentation, storyboarding and PowerPoint skills
  • Open, positive, and collaborative working style, capable of working across multiple different teams and disciplines.
  •  The drive for self-development, the ability to collaborate, and an action-oriented work ethic
