The Opportunity

 

We are searching for a Business Development Director to drive new sales, with a concentration on TSP’s Consulting & Assessment business. Our Consulting & Assessment business leverages data and insights to help clients make the best decisions around their people. Our core services include leadership assessments for selection and development; selection process design and delivery (including custom assessments, competency development, and interview best practices); coaching; and workshop facilitation. The BD Director will be responsible for researching, generating, and cultivating sales leads, managing external communication with current and potential clients, designing, and presenting solutions, negotiating pricing and contracts; ultimately driving new business revenue for TSP. This is a full-time remote position; candidates can reside anywhere in the US.

 

 

Responsibilities

The Business Development Director, Consulting & Assessment will:

  • Responsible for driving and delivering gross profit within the Consulting & Assessment business
  • Demonstrates strategic selling approach to identify, target, and penetrate companies with needs appropriate to Consulting & Assessment business
  • Research main points-of–contact at target organizations and maintain updated target list
  • Builds sustainable, mutually beneficial relationships with key client buying influencers
  • Responsible for keeping CRM up to date with all relevant sales activities
  • Develops customized business solutions based on client needs, including proposals and presentations
  • Responsible for negotiating pricing and contracts
  • Effectively aligns with Consulting & Assessment team to ensure seamless transition for delivery

Job Requirements

Ideal Professional Background

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Business, Human Resources or related field. 
  • Human Resource experience a plus
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in sales or as an entrepreneur
  • Preferred sales experience with an emphasis on selling intangible services, such as leadership assessment, to senior leaders and HR stakeholders
  • Preferred knowledge of assessment tools and their applications in selection and development initiatives
  • Must be a hunter with the ability to identify and bring in new contacts
  • Strong customer-focused mindset with exceptional listening and interpersonal skills
  • Curious, self-starter, and an entrepreneurial attitude

 

Preferred Skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
  • E-mail Marketing tools
  • Salesforce.com experience
  • Intermediate social media skills: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.

 

Other

  • While much of our work has successfully migrated to a virtual environment, this position still requires an ability to travel to meet face-to-face with prospects when necessary.
